130th Anniversary Tree Canopy Community Service Project
In appreciation of our clients, communities and friends that have nurtured and sustained us for 130 years and in keeping with our tradition of community service, we celebrated our 130th anniversary by donating and planting 130 trees in Southside Hampton Roads through a firm-wide service project. Studies show that improving the tree canopy expands wildlife habitat, diminishes urban heat islands, improves water quality, reduces stormwater management costs and improves air quality, thereby bettering the quality of life for all of us who call this area our home. We take pride in a history of rolling up our shirtsleeves to serve our clients and communities and enjoyed celebrating 130 years of service through Pender & Coward's 130th Anniversary Tree Canopy Community Service Project as we continue to honor the firm’s motto of “Service. Integrity. Results.”
The Norfolk Tree Commission presented Pender & Coward with the Project of the Year Award at its Arbor Day ceremony on October 3, 2020 for donating and planting 130 trees during the firm's 130th Anniversary Tree Canopy Community Service Project in 2019.
